Don't spend money on basics, buy sets to mix and match from your closet.
My closet is organized by outfits, saving me an average time of however long it takes to eat bread and butter while doing my makeup. You don't need to do that, but everyone has basics in their closet that can come alive with a few prints. An easy way of doing that is buying comfortable sets that flatter your shape. The purpose is to grab and go anything in your closet before Hansen's Sno-Bliz Shop gets packed. Five sets can make 25 outfits, add basics and you can make enough outfits for the whole summer.

Remember: comfort and fit, comfort and fit, comfort and fit, set it and forget it... I mean comfort and fit.
If you fall in love with a set, buy the same one in a different color. Treat clothing as an investment: "Does it fit well?," "Do I feel comfortable in it?," "Can I afford it?"
Do your research before purchansing, money doesn't grow on trees y'all. Thrift shop, consignment shop, shop your friend's closet (they might have items to donate).
